Title: Burnout Paradise
Post by: Nightmare85 on Sat 17.01.2009 02:17:36
Hi all,

This game comes for the PC in Europe on the 6th February 2009.
It will contain any updates and extras which will come (or already have come) for the console versions.
I played it several times on the XBox 360 (one friend has it) and it makes a lot of fun!
Very fast, nice graphics, huge city and so on.

Requirements:
Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or higher):

    * CPU: Intel Pentium 4-Prozessor with 3,2 GHz
    * RAM: 1 GiByte RAM
    * Graphics card: Graphics card with 128 MiByte VRAM and Pixel Shader 3.0
    * HDD: 4 GB
    * Internet: Broad band for Online-activation and Online-Games- 512 kbit/s or faster

Windows Vista:

    * CPU: Intel Pentium 4-Prozessor with 3,2 GHz
    * RAM: 1,5 GiByte RAM
    * Graphics card: Graphics card with 128 MiByte VRAM and Pixel Shader 3.0
    * HDD: 4 GB
    * Internet: Broadband Internet for Online-activation and Online-Games- 512 kbit/s or faster

(I've included 20 pictures in this thread as well.)

As far as I know, the copy protection will only be an online activation.
No DVD for playing required (I hate this if I always have to use the DVD!)

If I change the 800x600 to any other higher values, I always get the 1280x720 versions.

Did they manage it with if-functions?

As far as I know, the copy protection will only be an online activation.
No DVD for playing required (I hate this if I always have to use the DVD!)

I love the strategy to not overload games with activation measures, ...like extra drivers on you OS / safeguard / steam etc. Those systems would just animate to pirate the games, cause in that case you just copy a file over the Game.exe and you are done. ONLY THE GUYS WHO BUY THE GAMES WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE NEGATIVE SISES OF COPYRIGHT PROTECTION!! I wonder when game developers will understand that this just increases development costs reduces the number of bought games and the comfort to use them!
Its cool to play games without trouble, so you need no crack to enable nocd etc....
UT3 is half half of this, cause it still makes me enter the serial anytime my i-net is not connected... and that happens quite some times since I work online with an other PC than my gaming machine and have to switch a button.. -.-

If I follow the images in your code I come to sizes of ~ 1029px × 772px... don't know if the original pics were changed on the site you are linking to. Don't bother about high resolution pics in the forum anymore: they should be squized automatically to a smaller size now via Java! The size will remain the original one, but jpegs with "normal" dimensions should load just fine.  smiley-ok.gif

Yes its fun for PC too as long as u dont meet a lot of vehicles and combine that with lags cause then u'll crash :P

The default controls are weird but ive been to lazy to try to change controls but i guess the default ones are useable even though it's not what i'd love to use.

The menus are weird for a pc game. for instance when you press "Esc" in the game you'll switch between menu pages with F1 and F2 buttons? How weird is that? and i thought UT3 UI sucked. How can games for PC become so retarded, Why dont they use arrow keys or something?

Well i dont know but it doesnt bother me much since the only use the menu for pressing the "Save & Quit" button.

I've beaten it about 2 weeks ago and it was definitely a fun game :) It even worked online until they released the latest patch. I luved that when you connected you were still in the same spot, in the same car, the only thing that changed was that other players suddenly "appeared" in the city.

Once you learned where all the stunts were in the city the stunt run game mode was actually the most enjoyable and challenging. Were few racing games allowed you to make such crazy stunts, maybe only in the Flatout series.

btw I've read somewhere that there will be a PC version of the upcoming Gran Tourismo 5, that would be really sweet :) anyone knows smthg more 'bout this?

Gran Turismo 5 for pc would be nice, but I think there are too many other good racing games for pc available.
However, Gran Turismo is still one of the best I ever played.
Too bad I never played part 4, only part 1, 2 and 3.
I also read it could be possible that part 5 will be released for pc.
Many games are not console exclusive only, they even come for pc.
The Last Remnant, Burnout Paradise and many more.
All those games never would have been released for the pc years ago.

To Burnout Paradise:
It is ridiculous that you cannot use your wish name because you already use it for another game.
I have Battlefield 2 and I cannot use my wish name for Burnout Paradise because of BF2?!?!
The support did not really help me.
No idea, I know it's just a name but it sucks that you can capture your own name.
Deleting is not possible as well.
EA technology *thumbs up*

hey night i also played every part from gran turismo also part for 4 for PS2!!!
its really really good!!! but i dont like 1 thing.... good is that u really can droíve the 24h races, but u arent able to save in a race, that means u have to drive really 24hours in one part!!!!!
thats stupid, an good option will be, that u are able to save a race when u are in the box.
but i hope gran turismo 5 will also release for PC!!!

Well, right now, I've tried to start Burnout Paradise - no chance.
It crashes after the start.
I will try to re-install it tomorrow.
That really sucks...
I just wanted to play any game beside UT3, because I have pain in my wrist...

whahahahah  xxxlaugh.gif loooool

played too much ut3 or what :P ?

and if its really neccecary to keep playing games mean while ur wrist hurts its better to play those racing games instead of shooters xD

I used to play a lot of racing games.  DTM, need for speed, even the very very first gran turismo on the ps1 XD

but i think burnout is the best game for racing cause of the crashes. that keeps it original and u never get bored of crashed? at least i dont :P

dont know about burnout paradise. is there a torrent were i can download the game ? ( i dont like to buy XD )

i only played burnout takedown for the PS2 and i liked it very much.
