Title: Patch 2.1 Beta changelists - final version out now!

Hey,
I just saw the changelog:

Epic has released a beta of Patch 2.1 to testers, but due to a rather nasty bug, it's advised not to download this patch, as 2.0 clients will not be able to connect if it is installed. That said, here is the current changelist:

* UI:
* Disabled wrap for options lists on PC.
* Split out player and bot counts on mixed servers in server browser.
* No longer require double clicking on main menu.

Game:
* No longer disable achievements for mods that don't contain code (maps and custom characters).
* Fixed issues with weapons respawning with Duel and with WeaponsRespawn mutator.
* Reduced visibility of DM beacons in darkmatch.
* Fixed greed exploit with redeemer.
* Updated russian localization. Thanks Michael Sokolkov.
* Removed os helper workaround for Windows 2003 server, now that we have a better fix.
* Fixed low gore issue with Titans.
* Fix for wrong team shader in rare cases.

Server Administration:
* Fixed problem where maplist entries contain unwanted whitespace, and move invalid maplist entries to a separate 'BadMaps' list, instead of just deleting them
* Fixed bug where the advertised game was wrong after switching gametypes, but only for the startup gametype
* Fixed bug with password being removed from URL, during non-seamless travel on the same server
* Fixed bug where the current game profiles mutators would be carried over into other gametypes
* Added 'MapReplayLimit' to UTMapList; this overrides the same value in UTMapListManager, unless set to -1
* Added code to trim down the size of server details results when they become too large, fixes problem where servers would not be advertised
* Adjusted vote code to end vote rounds early, when all players have voted, and to switch map immediately instead of respecting the 'EndTimeDelay' and 'RestartWait' settings
* In endgame votes, forcibly extend the first vote round by 16 seconds (i.e. the time it takes for the vote menu to popup)
* Added admin-only buttons to the vote menu, which allow admins to force a winning vote
* Added logging to track down non-seamless travel client disconnect bug.

Mod support:
* Fixed problem with cooking with -mod and ModShaderCache
* Fixed map makers unable to cook when using Titan Pack assets. (May need to delete GlobalPersistentCookerData.upk from My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC)
* Added mutator hook for blocking team changes

Level specific:
* Fixed WAR-Confrontation raptor exploit.
* Possible fix for darkmatch memory leak.
* Added refshadercache to patch, so titan content will have shaders compiled.

Let's see if it will fix some other issues like walljump and quick weapon switching after an Avril shot.

The reloading animation can stop you from changing weapon but can be tricked in different ways.

yea, avril is really buggy, i hate when i can't change weapon because of animation =\  And they still didn't fix it - sometimes when i switch my weapon to avril it reloads *2 faster. I would greatly appreciate if they return it back to 1.3.

Guys, would you please make a screenshot with an exact place where the hoverboard-walljump worked in version 1.3 but does not work now?
Honestly, I never used the walljump but since you use it, you should know some places.
I will send an E-Mail to Epic with a list of problems which were created by patch 2.0 and should get fixed in 2.1!

Honestly, I never used the walljump but since you use it, you should know some places.

its allmost on every wall and on the jump pad up to suspense tower u also cant dodge from wall anymore

The dodge still works.. only its harder now, U have to face the wall, so dont look in any other direction, then the dubbeldodge should work on the jumppads. For the hoverboard in high speed aprouche its really hard to face the wall and then press dubbeldodge.

i know that it still woks if u concentrate and if i hit wall 100%. but before 2.0 it was possible to dodge always and in every way u were standing to wall.. i want that back... walldodges shouldnt be harder then dodge jumps lol

It was really usefull when u had flag, so u could dodge many shots or what so ever.

faking epic, they dont even play their own game ? or they play it but then they are those kinda noobs who ask where the hoverboard is..

haha i saw such cases sometimes  Crazysmile1  Some guy leaves raptor/manta near the flag, takes the flag, tries to go away, smb takes his raptor/manta and kills him with his own vehicle  laughanim2.gif

Some players do only harm for their team... ::)

Is there definitely a delay during moving?

I want to write some issues which are caused by patch 2.0 and which are not fixed by patch 2.1 beta 2:
(Excuse me if some things are already fixed, I have not tested the patch online to confirm features like vote menu).

Overview:
1. Avril reload sequence prevents from switching quickly to a weapon
2. WAR-Confrontation has another exploit
3. Team orb sometimes dissapears from mini map
4. Walljump problems
5. Vote menu comes too early after the match has ended
6. Vote menu does not show the map with the most votes
7. Double clicking on map menu
8. There is no message button during matches


1.
After an Avril shot, you cannot switch to a weapon quickly. You have to wait around 1 second. There were some fast firing Avril exploit which you successfully fixed. Unfortunatelly, you broke the switching.
A work-around is to press the number for the weapon twice.
However, a real fix would be very nice!

You've fixed the Raptor exploit, however, there is another trick to enter the core room. You just need a vehicle (Scorpion is perfect) and your hoverboard.
In this case I used the Scorpion's self-destruction and while being in air, I just got on my hoverboard:

Since patch 2.0 me and other players sometimes cannot see the own orb on the mini map. Even after the match was over and another map came, we could not see it. I happened on Epic Midway Warfare servers as well.
As you can see, there is no orb visible on the mini map:

Many friends complain that walljumps are much more difficult now. Especially after jumping with the hoverboard and getting off it while being in air. Also after jumping on a jump pad (for example Suspense) shall be more difficult now.
Walljumps on edges are nearly impossible as far as I heard.
I cannot say anything to it because I never use it, but I read several posts that something was (badly) changed.

5.
You can automatically see the scores between all rounds during a match. However, after a match has ended, you will immediately be redirected to the vote menu without seeing the scores.

6.
In version 1.3 you always could see which maps the most votes have. Now you have to scroll, to look and to compar.
I heard there is also a problem that the scroll bar will be messed up if one of the 1st maps will have the most votes.

7.
The one click for the main menu works perfectly, but what about the mod and map part?

8.
You can get messages during online matches but you cannot read them because the message tab is not available.
You have to quit the match and read them in your community menu.

Okay, if I find any other issues, I will write you as soon as possible.

well i had this problem with nemesis (shootrate) also before 2.0.... i guess it came already with 1.1

Yeah, I've feel this bug frequently in sand. And in the worst case, as u need full power.

Good that they have finally fixed the WAR-Confrontation exploits.
Strangely, they didn't even touch the map (the file: WAR-Confrontation.ut3) but the exploits are fixed.

I will write them an e-mail again tomorrow.
Let's see if they will fix some other "new" annoying things.
You guys cry about the walljump, I cry about the Avril reload sequence and Epic just laugh :D

I'm trying to find a work-around for fixing the Avril problem until it gets officially fixed.
If you quickly press the key for the weapon twice, you will immediately get your weapon (it's like you force it).
It does not work for scroll wheel or the key for switch to best weapon.
However, it works for any other keys, for example from 1 till 9).
Shoot an Avril, press quickly the 4 twice and you will get your Shock Rifle as it was in 1.3 possible.

There is a very good thread in Epic forums about any keybindings.
I have asked there and if I got a solution, I will post it here as well.
Or maybe you have a solution too?^^

I also thought about binds and stuff like this - but I rather downgrade to 1.3 again if Epic doesn't fix it itself! ...the only problem will be the 2.0 server for clanwars, I won't be able to join there...

I think I have found out a better solution!!
Right now, I wanted to update my say scripts and then I saw this:
Bindings=(Name="GBA_Fire",Command="StartFire | OnRelease StopFire")
So I thought (Can't this be used to fix the Avril problem?)
Then I tried out:
Bindings=(Name="F1", Command="switchweapon 8 | OnRelease switchweapon 8")
After shooting an Avril, I quickly pressed F1 and I got my Rocket Launcher!

That means you just have to update the existing commands from
Bindings=(Name="GBA_SwitchWeapon1",Command="switchweapon 1")
etc.
to
Bindings=(Name="GBA_SwitchWeapon1",Command="switchweapon 1 | OnRelease switchweapon 1")
etc.

Or just use any other keys like I do.

Try it out and say if it works.

Of course it's still not as good as it was in 1.3, but much better than 2.0 standard.

I just hope the avrils and the server browser are fixed, that means they are turned back as in 1.3. ...checking the list now  wink2.gif

Edit: server browser should count the number of players correctly  msn009.gif, but the word "avril" is not mentioned in the changelog  msn004.gif

Ultimatly I think all would be more satisfyed if our beloved game would be open source. They waste no time, not theyr, not our 4 patches which are annoying crap, but we get a stable, user friendly and cool looking UT3.  xxxras.gif

Oh god, Warfare is annoying every 2 rounds because of the missing orb on the mini map and the missing announcements.
I mean the "enemy orb carrier incoming".
You can lose Nodes very quickly!

It seems like this:
"There is no orb visible on the mini map every 2 rounds and furthermore you will not hear any announcements"
