Hello guys,
I worked many hours on a new thread about UT3 bugs.
There is a 1.4 request thread in Epic's forum which has 65 pages.
I read it nearly complete and picked up the most important information (for me).
Then I added some bugs which I experience.

Thanks man!

Something to the hoverboard bug:
I did not mentioned Containment because I promised it Vegas^^
I think it is very easy to use this bug and when I show some official maps, the guys could try and use it on official maps.
(I mean it is not a map glitch so why post it on official maps?)

10. Driving with Goliath over barricades:
I would say it's a bug, yes.
Maybe RPGWizard meant the big barricades which need the redeemer or C4 to get destroyed.
He did not answer until now.

Seems that I completely forgot the Join button.

Hmm the problem with the spectate button is,
that some unfair players would quickly change to the spec mode to search the enemy flag carrier.
Then they will join again and go to him.
(I mean no one can know what the spectator is doing).
Maybe it would be fair if there is a delay of 30 seconds!?
A normal player won't often change from player to spectator.

But well, you also could join the game as spectator, search something and become active...
(If you are unfair^^).

There can be a spec button and you always can go from player to spec and vica versa under one condition:
The flag carriers can't be spectated.
I even think if the free movement should be disabled, too.
The argumentation:
You have a good place where you can hide and the enemies can't find you.
And then comes a spec and sees everything and your secret is not a more a secret.
It would be too easy if an enemy player changes to spec and just searches for you.
I'm sure many players would do this...

So that's the deal:
Spec button = yes, spectating flag carriers (+ free movement) = no.
Yes I know it is very interested to spectate and of course to see what the flag carriers do, but it simply could be unfair as mentioned."

I really think the hoverboard must be changed.
That would fix many bugs at a time!
There are plenty of maps with these gravity settings where you will be drawn back.

And the scorpion's auto aim sux as well against the hoverboard.

Scorpions auto aim against Hover? Whats that feature, I never mentioned the scorp not shooting where I was aiming... or do you mean the offline auto-aim? Never used that...

The scorpion is very strong against Manta and other vehicles.
When you shoot, you needn't to aim exactly because the fire will touch the Manta.
(Big radius).
The same is with the hoverboard.
You hit an enemy too easy.
If he isn't on the hoverboard, you have to aim more exactly.
And I think it is only because the hoverboard is set as vehicle.

Has nothing to do with offline or online.

Hi nightmare, i've leave a post in ur UT3-bug-list-thread by epic. And i confirm the difference between hoverboard / by foot. The manta killing potential is not so unintelligible, the Manta is a true pedestrian killer and he has to have a weak point.

First big thx for your efforts, its a pretty nice things-to-doo list for the v1.4.
And now I'll mention some things I'd liked to be changed (even if it may be posted somewhere already, its just my personal toplist):

1 The same leaderboard for all game modes is like comparing apples and oranges. Separe the game modes and split the "global" stats into more sections ( at least when this is necessary, eg score for capturing flags or linking nodes).

2 The main menue buttons should be avaiable as static buttons too insteat of the unprecise OS-X fish-eye style (thats probably the reason why there are no good games for OS-X ^^)

3 There is no exit game button if you are logged off... its boring to login again, so ALT+F4 is the final choice.

4 I would like to be able to aim and fire while using the console / chat function. ...E.g. in Kargo you could teamchat "heal tank" while shooting at the enemies, and incoming selfdestructing scorpions.

5 I often (really often) don't take or don't cause any damage with avril hits (you answered to rhiridflaidd that you saw this, too, but not many times. ...it happens many times to me).

6 I often kill or die with 1 avril that should not destroy the vehicle.

7 sometimes i try to hijack enemy vehicles, but they svanish in front of me... It may be that it depends on the time and if no player of the enemy team near the vehicle, but its very annoying if I ran a long way for nothing or even self distructed my own vehicle before.

8 It happens sometimes that I see an enemy player displayed as a teammate of mine and viceversa (example with Gf@zzzz scoring for blue while displayed as red player...with red flag, lol http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/2258/redflagyg1.jpg)

9 Timings for certain actions don't stay always the same:
1. if i sniper someone and he falls to the ground, the 2nd hit will take damage only after a certain period of time. Thats a feature. But sometimes it takes longer (player can move and nearly shoot again) and sometimes its enough to hit him during the standing up animation.
2. The avril reload animation takes veeeeery long sometimes.

10 The Nightshade sometimes shows the wrong mines in the weapon tab at the bottom of the screen (eg. energy shield instead of spidermines), so you have to press the 1-4 keys instead of using the mouse wheel.

By the way:
I know the smooth framerate function (I had to use it with my last PC), but for what reason is there a upper fps limit? I can't go above 90.0 frames even if it should be something about twice that value in small maps! (is there a .ini setting or something I could change it manually myself?)

@Vegas:
You can change the Framerate Smoothing here:
X:\Documents and Settings\user name\My documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config
Open the UTEngini.ini and simply search with ctrl+f for smo.
Then you should be here and can increase the FPS maximum:
[Engine.GameEngine]
bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE
MinSmoothedFrameRate=22.000000
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=60.000000
bClearAnimSetLinkupCachesOnLoadMap=TRUE

Problem solved. If you put "LAN" as your connection there is no 90fps smoothing... I like my 280 far better ^^

1 driving on the hoverboard is not smooth if you don't drive straight but just a bit skew... the perspective shakes and stumbles.

2 the server pings are not displayed correctly in the server browser. They are sometimes heavily different once the player joins the server.

3 Sometimes friends disappear from the friends list, you have to send them an invite again

4 It is possible to cheat in ctf with the translocator: if the translocator module is placed right on the own flag and you get the flag, you van teleport home and you sore (you should just loose the flag and teleport instead)

5 Sometimes spidermines disappear pretty soon, sometimes they last very long (is this a feature?).

I think this depends on how many spiders were used, a spidermine either dissappears when the time is over or when all spider inside (ca. 10, I think) are used.

No, I think they stay also if many are used (I think on some nightshade-necropolis-rampage or on spiders in the base in sandstorm)

...but if they are placed near the spiders spawnpoint in sand they may disappear pretty soon. So maybe its a combination of time and if players are near the mines???

Thanks again for supporting me.
I may need your help this weekend because I want to test some things and recreate some bugs, too.
For example the Nightshade bug (which you showed in your video, where the scavenger had the shield and so on).

Vegas:
#2: I wonder why I didn't write it until now because I always see this and think it's a very stupid ping information.
Will be added in my bug list! thx

#4: I tried it right now but I didn't get it.
I was red and placed this translocator module on my own flag.
Then I ran to the blue flag, took it and tried to teleport... but I lost the flag - no score.
I think I did not hit the exact hole where my own flag stands...
I'll try it again.

ok I watched the video and don't understand where the problem is.
He places his translocator module near the enemy flag, takes the enemy flag, scores and teleports to the enemy flag again.
What's the bug?
It is a nice method and I don't see a problem.
BTW: Couldn't an enemy player destroy your translocator module? Sorry, I never play CTF...

it only shows it from the SERVER option in the browser - it doesnt work if you are in favorites or History (pls fix!)

#31 Joining as spectator and then become active causes standard colors instead of team colors

If you join a team match (TDM, CTF, V-CTF or Warfare) as a spectator and become active,
you won't have your team color (blue or red).
You will just have your normal skin color which could cause confusing.

#32 Nightshade sometimes shows wrong mines in its weapon tab.

You want to drop the spider mines but get a shield or other things.
Scrolling with mouse does not help.
You have to press the 1-4 keys.

Firing the Avril at an SPMA's camera is supposed to result in the rocket redirecting to the SPMA once it gets close to the camera, but often it just hits the camera instead. //- have to check it: difficult for me

...I don't get the invisibility bug. Is the player invisible (for others) because he hides behind a texture or can he move around?

He is invisible but can't do anything.
The advantage would be that you can camp and no one can see you.
No idea if you take any damage if they would shoot.

Maybe a "new/unused" nightshade doesn't have these problems... no idea.

38. The player model's hands do not touch the handlebars in vehicles or turrets
39. Nightshade can forward its attachments to other vehicles

I think, we should open a thread on the Epic-Site with only one wish: "EPIC: Employ Nightmare85!" Perhaps it's sound crazy, but I'm serious: We can try it. Nightmare is a great fan of our prefered game, none a yammering carper, but a constructive and precisely observer. He spend many time and a lot of work to collect all this bugs and errors. We all don't feel this devotion from Epic... So I propose with honest emphasis: Let's do it!

2nd i started to lay a mine
3d the darkwalker walks away
4th i float there until i finish to lay the mine (what doesn't work if you had chosen the slow field)

...this "bug" bothers me most of all bugs, it makes the game so unfair ^^
Such things happen only in fun-training sessions =)

Can you confirm 2 things, please?
The first is this:

The second is that I never see the name of the flag scorer.
For example Wojci has the flag.
I read it if he takes/drops or returns the (enemy) flag.
I never can read if he scores.
I only can see my name if I score.
"Nightmare85 scores for blue/red".
It is even not possible for me to read it in the console if another player scores.

About first one i can say nothing, about the second issue i usually press F1 to see who carries the flag, so i have to decide the methods i kill him  Crazysmile1 But that really sucks, that you can't know who scored after he scored already :S Annoying.

Yes, I always view the scoreboard to see who is carrying the flag.
The problem is that even a look in the console does not show who scored.

The first one is just the weapon priority list in settings -> weapons.
It was okay some versions ago, but now there are unneeded and wrong lines.

Don't get paranoia, there may be just an error cause you changed your weapon prefrences or keys.

...Actually there is kind of an error in the weapon key settings... time ago I didn't realize how to switch to vehicles secondary fire mode (eg: bender or goliath turrets). That was because I set other weapon shortcuts instead of enforcer and hammer (keys 1 & 2).
Now also the swap vehicle position keys have been moved and I couldn't understand why... til someone told me I should just press 1 or 2, then I got suspect  Confused2

Another fastidous thing that came just in my mind:
I hate the original crosshairs!!!! But if I change to custom ones I can't see anymore the symbol that appears if someone grapples a vehicle and I cannot see how many rockets are charged.
Is there a way to change the original crosshairs to a dot or a small semitransparent sphere with a dot and still keeping the additional functionality of the original settings? Maybe change some alpha on the bitmaps?

To my weapon list problem:
I will try to set the default order.

To your key 1 and 2 problem:
So it now still does not work for you to switch the seats in vehicles by pressing 1 and 2?
Hmm I think 1 and 2 have to be "switchWeapon 1 and 2".

To your crosshair problem:
Did you open the UTWeapon.ini?
Maybe there is a possibility.
At least I see
CrosshairColor=(R=255,G=255,B=255,A=255)

BTW:
Maybe I have the weapon list problem because I deleted the UTWeapon.ini and my list is saved online.

No, I can switch between vehicle seats because I set weapon 1 & 2 to their original keys.

Crosshair: I resized the crosshair to be pretty small and switched the color to yellow, but its just the size and color. I can also use different custom shapes as crosshair, but as said before, the additional functions below the crosshair disappear (most important in vctf is the indicator if someone grapples your vehicle)

- 43. Total Conversions crash if specific parameters are used
- 44. Deployable Energy Shield does not completely block splash damage
- 45. Unneeded lines in the weapon priority list
- 46. Flag scorer is not visible for others
- 47. Redeemer ceiling bug
- 48. Picking up weapon attachments while shooting gives an unfair advantage
- 49. Vehicles do not always change their skin properly when destroyed

- 19: more details and screenshots
- 21: optical change
- 31: changed title
- 33: more text

and of course updated credits.

Version 1.5 will come more quickly than 1.4 because I wanted to include somethings but I did not get it (little time).

The tank is strong, yes.
However, if you shoot some metres away (what would mean the damage should be little), you still deal damage to the enemy which is in the Energy Shield.
The Paladin is strong, too.
Its direct shots, which are definitely stronger that the indirect shots of the Goliath, don't deal any damage.
So I think the problem is the Energy Shield that cannot block any splash damage (no matter if much or little).

I'll write it in Epic's Forum, too, because it seems that the thread is slowly dying :( :(

Nightmare, do you want shield to block the goliath shooting? Like as it hits the shield, it explodes there, right? Actually the true is on your side - it should deny it, like it denies my redeemer when it's passing through the shield.

I saw a further thing that is annoying me:
In the player list you can see only the playing time or the ping if there are few players! If there are more (I think more than 6 per team) the lines decrease in size and only the name and clantag are shown.

I know, its not a bug, but you could post it as a request to show always this infos (maybe also number of deaths in vctf?)

Nightmare, yes, i failed 2 times with redeemer (second time forgot about experience from the first try).

In Necro on the nemesis spawn and near the boots was shield and i came with demer to kick some asses at the flag. But i got kicked like a little pussy by this shield  cry2 This shield is very strange...

Can anyone of you activate OpenAL (sound settings in UT3) without renaming any files to avoid crashes?
I have to rename 1 file (wrap_oal.dll).
Ok, but this is not the main question.

I always played with OpenAL.
Since I had some problems, I deactivated it.
Now I hear the sound "Defend your core" in Warfare matches.
I'm absolutely sure that I never heard it when my OpenAL was activated.

So the main quesion is:
Are sounds missing if OpenAL is activated?

P.S. My thought was that maybe not OpenAL is the problem, but the renamed file... (I cannot check it because of the crashes - X-Fi)

I have disactivated OpenAl since it didn't reproduce the sound correctly (totally unusable on my last pc and wrong 3D orientation with my actual soundchip)
The sounds were altered...maybe I can take a look if some are missing too...

I know the "neck breaker", it happened to me in deck on the bridge...

The sound problems may be because of the changed files. Anyways, software sound will always play all kind of sounds.

Try to keep the files changed and switch to software sound (/no OpenAL), maybe you won't hear "defend your core" in this case too.

I guess I only can confirm it as bug if I deactive my sound card.
I don't need sound to test if the sounds are played because I see the text in the console.

Many guys said there are problems with demos in UT3.

That is may be for the reason to improve the server performance: only the relevant data is sent to each client (eg, what to I care about ppl in the enemy base if I am in my own base, far away. I'd be happyer to have a better ping instead of receiving informations the game won't show on my screen.).
Did I get it?-> Just type demorec (name.of.demo) in the console during an online game and watch it in the "Demoplayer"... its just a buggy feature too  wasted2

Now I'm waiting for Vegas and Sova^^-> Sova is not here @ the time, but I will accept  :)

It is about the missing IMG-tag in General Chat part of the forum.
It sux that I can't use IMG-tags because threads with many screenshots will be huge in their MB size.
Would be nice if you enhance that opinion.
Epic forum's SHOT-tag is stupid, because it only resizes the images in their dimensions, but not in their file size.
My map glitches thread is over 22 MB.
If I could use my own thumbnails, it would be smaller than 4 MB.
The IMG thumbnails look nearly as same as the SHOT thumbnails, but are much more smaller!

Usually i have ping ~180 at most of the european servers. But today (actually one a month) i have awesome ping of 90-100, sometimes it reached 85. Why did it happen? Can i manage it somehow?

Was the server full when you had an 85 ping?
Sometimes I also have a good ping when there aren't many players on it.
When some servers are full, my ping rises up to 150.

Do you feel a better gameplay with the low ping?
Maybe it is a wrong information, who knows?
But if you feel that it is much better, then your ping should actually be as low as you said.
Was it the same server where you usually get a higher ping?

There are 4 main advantages compared to the Epic forum:
1) The file size of the site is only around 2,7 MB instead of 31 MB because of the real thumbnails (#16 is the only exception)
2) The font and the colors may be more user friendly (not sure what exactly I can change in Epic forum)
3) Internal hyperlinks -> You can reach every bug faster and can quickly return to the overview
4) Simply more possibilities: no parts needed, no character limit, html code available etc.

The site is not that special, but I think it is enough and definitely better than Epic's forum.
I will make the site public after some days.

Maybe you can give some pieces of advice.
I was not sure about the dark :D background color.
I first wanted dark grey, but the black is not that bad.
And I think 2 images in a row are ok - should still look as in the forum.
(Not sure about different resolutions - 2 should completely be visible for many resolutions like 1280x1024)

Don't make it black, keep it 80-90% gray instead, thats more user friendly... Ur not gonna be a _Dark_ webmaster, aren't you?  ;D

By the way, bug 33, the incorrect linkgun aim bug may be mentioned this way. Try to change to left hand weapon and I'll bet it will aim aim too much left. There is an .ini setting that you can change to centered or similar to correct your aim. I guess this "bug-feature" should keep your sight to the crosshair clear  laughanim2.gif !! No really, the rocket's smoke or link primary shots really hinder your sight if your aim is centered. Wish I could get rid of the rocket smoke somehow  ::)

Nice job! btw, i dunno when this happens, but i found one more bug with redeemer. It works fine offline. Run the sandstorm map, take the redeemer and then shoot it (RMB) while jumping to some side (double D or double A). The redeemer should...ok you'll see yourself xD Try clicking again the button of the direction you jumped to (A or D) :)

Just create a 16x16 Gif, rename it to favicon.ico and put it in your server root where the index.html is. Remember that it works with all major browser except the ie... if you care, you better try to google for "favicon.ico".

I can see everything correctly with all mayor browser, so you've choosen the correct content type and therefore all browsers should display it correctly. The only thing you should check is the font color of the body text: it is green in ie and gray in all other browser.

Thanks for this advice, I never would have known this.
I tried some things and it seems the IE has problems with <font color="grey"> !?! (even without the "").
That means I have to find the exact html code for the current font color.
But this shouldn't be that problem since I can compare the sites.

Ok, seems "#777777" is nearly the same as "grey" (slightly darker).

First: Happy new year to you all :)

As already said I've updated my thread.
But before talking about the changes in the thread, I want to say something more important (at least for me):
I was disappointed of the less possibilities in the forum (even no IMG-tags).
So I decided to create my own site with my own wishes.
Of course I update the site and this thread synchronously - so don't worry.
The site is nothing special but I think enough for this list and it has some advantages compared to the thread:
- real thumbnails: the complete file size of the site is around 3 MB (10 times smaller than the thread)
- internal hyperlinks: you can reach every bug faster and you can always go back to the overview
- no parts needed - 1 site (maybe no advantage for you, but for me)
- maybe better font and color (I think it's better but well, everyone's own opinion)
- also a German version^^ (however, only 1.6 until now and not perfectly translated until no) - will be updated tomorrow, but I guess no one cares about it :D)

One player says it is possible to stay on the hoverboard under water.

I always fall from the hoverboard...
He uses version 1.3.

It works if you try it with "god", but I hardly believe he used a cheat^^
And he said you have to jump with the hoverboard into the water (from the high place).

I tryed it after Wojci gave me the tip to practice a bit offline too  msnembarr.gif
It didn't work for me since a high-impact hoverboard landing to the water surface lets you crash right there and not on the ground. I found nothing in the middle: crashing if jumping from the top of necro-bridge or staying on the hoverboard ON the water surface by jumping from the  entacles near bridge.

...and I noted some things:
- If you viper self-distruct you won't get hurt if you land on a water surface with the hoverboard
- same for the use of boots (not for ground-hammerjumps)
- You can change to the hoverboard if you are in the water and your character jumps towards a wall on the side of the waterplace (where you still can't get out of the water)  tongue1

Sometimes I shoot with my tank enemy scorpions and they survived it.
That mostly happens during the boost/self-destruct sequence.
Is there a bug or just bad-luck?
I'm absolutely sure I hit them but they still survive it and damage the tank!

They survive when you hit near them, but not close enough to give them full damage. It's like sometimes tank makes damage to some guy running, but not killing it.

I tried this:
I startet an offline match, activated demorec, made around 6 Shock Combos and stopped the demo.
After playing the demo it was still impossible for me to confirm it :(
Maybe we can check it together online.

35. Player can get invisible if he feigns death on some objects - I think I will mark it as clear
It seems to be map/object specific - changing feign death can't fix it, but I will analyze it more properly today.

Epic said they fixed the client demo problems.
However, I always have this one problem:
My player looks to the opposite direction during the first shots.
That means it looks as the Shock Cores would come out of his back instead out of the Shock Rifle. lol

It was always possible to carry flag in a turret, even before the new patch,

I heard it from some ppl.

The only problem with rails is then, that u can go with the turret next to the enemy's flag, grab it and go back with the turret while holding the flag xD

If done this a few times, and scored :D

Sounds like a shield belt deluxe to me!
But snipers or Hellbender turrets are a serious thread, since the "Rails" let you drive in just 2 predefined directions, making you an easy target.

With good cover ur gone in 2 secs :D

and with this new titan shit, nobody even concentrates on the flag ^^ they just want to become titan xD

Okay, maybe 16 players per side are maximum so we shouldn't count it as bug.
However, the patch notes say:

Yeah, seems like an error. Epic stated any amount of player could be displayed in the scoreboard... 32 on both teams would easily fit if the text size would decrease just a bit.

I wonder why the names have to be so huge.
There could be a nice smaller line for any player displaying the name, score, ping, kills and deaths.

Actually there is a tiny line with infos about the ping below the player names if there are really few ppl to display in the scoreboard. This would be a very important feature, at least the own infos should ALWAYS be there!

No problem, mate!
Some differences in server versions 1.3 and 1.4:

- There are more problems with patched clients and the old server versions! Especially the avril won't work as it should, meaning you encounter lots of no damage avrils and problems to switch weapon after firing an avril (you will see multiple weapons at the same time and no weapon firing at all til you feign death)
 
The storm on sandstorm is active on new and old patched server.

The Nightshade hover bug still works on unpatched server. We didn't manage to try it on a 1.4 server yet.


...I guess its getting time to patch the dark clan server.

Since not all servers are patched to 2.0, it's not good that bugs like these happen.
However, I really doubt Epic could or would do somethings against it.
They just could think "Own fault if they don't patch their server".

Just start an Instant match, type demorec in console, make some Shock Combos, type demostop.
Then play the demo and type demoslomo 0.1 (or 0.5 - lower=slower).
I'm not 100% sure if the actual core exactly matches the center's explosion.
However, it does definitely not look as bad as the animation!
I have the feeling this bug was fixed long time ago... if it really was fixed.

P.S: I tried to create a video with fraps, but it was around 900 MB...

See this effect many times at the clanwar vids. Tank muzzle in kargo ist evrytime in the direction of the front, but he shoot on the sniper, platform, outways... I think, the problem is the performance: If u aim, the spectator client didn't show this, he only show ur main direction (move). If he has to show all details, its maybe to much and it lags.

I sometimes see problems with the boots spawning too. From time to time there is only the sole animated or small parts of the boots (not just like the yellow glowing as on your screenshots).

When Im in the fury, sometimes the boost doesnt work, I hear the sound of the boost but nithing happens.. its really anyoing if u want to evade a avril.

And the bug with the texture in sandstorm, u might know it, its next to the avril tower, i dont know exactly what u have to do, but u just die when u come to close ?.

and another one with the fury, when ur shooting someone with the 'beam' of the fury. and if that guy walks during the beam behind a wall or something, the beam continious and gets invisible, not that i have a problem with it :D but its just anoying.

maybe wojci knows more :P

--  - 69. Avril reload sequence prevents from quick switching weapons

If u look in the water ( the water thats left from the original suspense ) u se trees in the refelction... but in suspense_necris are no trees... ?

We all know the issue with the DarkWalker and 0 damage to players that are on hoverboard?
One mate told me this:
It seems that:
- if the DalkWalker hits the hoverboard first, it will not damage the player because the player and the hoverboard are 1 object.
(You hit the hoverboard and then you aim for the player - all in 1 shot).
Only the first objects gets registered.
If you would hit another player, (but not his hoverboard) you will damage him, because 2 players are 2 objects.

What do you think?
Sounds pretty logical to me!
Of course it's a bug if it's true.

I didn't get the problem either.

But there is one annoying bug with Viper, that i had several times. When i boost my viper ("Space" button) and fly upstairs, i can self destruct myself. But if i boost not enough to self-destruct, so my viper just falls down when i escape. And when i enter into it again, without pressing any buttons it flies up like i was pressing "space". ok, that's half of the problem. If it goes up and you try to self-destruct it by pressing "space" again and waiting for the icon to appear (telling, that you can self-desruct), so you can't do it sometimes!! The viper just falls down as you do, and nothing happens...

I'll demonstrate it online, if you want.

There is an other bug with the gate-switch on Necropolis.
If you push an other vehicle on it the gates stay closed til the next "big" vehicle triggers the switch again.

It only works online and you hear it for 15 seconds or longer.

71. Player survives any falls by using feign death

You have to stand near an edge on a platform and feign death.
After you slide over it very slowly, you will finally begin to fall.
Whenever you want, you just press the fire button to activate standing up animation.
This animation quits the fall immediately and you will land without taking any damage (depending on how late you press the button).

Can anyone please try to throw away and pick up deployables during online matches?
I got extreme problems.
The game freezed and after quitting it in task-manager, I got a BSOD.

Seems there are no crashes offline, but sometimes you can lose the weapon bar and all weapons after throwing and picking up deployables several times.
I even picked up other weapons, no chance.
It looks like this:

I had absolutely no chance to get a weapon.
Only suicide helped.
But as said: It seems to be much more terrible in online matches.

P.S. If deployables are not made for throwing away, then it should not be able to do this. So it's a bug either way.

Okay, sova and me tried the throwing weapons and picking them up again.
I always get system crashes but it works for him.
However, he gets the same issue with losing all weapons after throwing away a deployable several times (online and offline).
I only got this problem offline because online it crashes immediately.

I found a new bug today, but I hadn't the time to try it online. When you lay the protection shield you can shoot through it with the primary fire of the stinger, sniper and shock rifle.

FOV is the angle of view / the amount of the map and enemies you see on your screen.
Oviously a low FOV means that you have a "tunnel sight" - you may not see the furies right next to you. As your grafics card is strong enough you may set FOV to 100, if you don't need a "zoomed" environment.

Thats an example of ut2k4, where you could set more than 100 (as in BTA in UT3)

No, FOV100 is still the maximum in UT3.

And if you use widescreen, you will have less vertical view than a non-widescreen player.
(Pretty cheap method...)

the bigger your angle of vision is the smaller the objects in the direct centre appear to be. It's like looking through a fish lens. The objects seems to be more far away and smaller. This makes it more difficult to hit  combo.gif 'cos the shock core also appears to be smaller. That's why I'm sticking to FOV 100 although in other FPS I prefer 120

Hey guys, I'm updating my list again.
I have a question to our hoverboard walljump experts:
(Honestly, I never used it before 2.0 :D )

I would like to add these sentences to the current bug info.
(Bold = new)

It seems patch 2.0 broke the walljumps because I often see players complaining.
There is a problem in combination with a hoverboard jump and a walljump.
(Jump with hoverboard, get off it while being in air and make a walljump.)
It still works but not always and not on all walls.

I have been checking it more properly for a while.
These walljumps do not work if you have a lot of speed and if your hoverboard jump is high.
For example: A ramp.
A walljump seems to work properly after a simple hoverboard jump which does not have a higher speed or a bigger height.


Can you guys agree with it?
This is at least what I realized the last time

that doesnt work for me ?
at least its not that easy anymore as it used to be. they're just too hard to preform. and IF it works the speed suddendly disappears and its preformd as a normal walldodge...

at the position sova ment, i even freeze in midair like some hugee lag and just fall down

and the texture u need to make a walldodge is 'bigger' now. u need like 2 meter ( in ut3 XD ) to make the dodge actually work. before the patch it workd on like every wall.

I have not changed text which belongs to the screenshots, so don't wonder if there is still a left and right screenshot which would be wrong now.
The html version is not affected because its complete file size is still less than 4 MB.
Nice, the thread is now around 19 MB instead of 37 MB.

If you take a look at the screenshots you can spot whats wrong there with the aim: the crosshair on the slomo fild is where the tank shoots at. Its just that the bullet doesn't hit the slomo but goes trough it. Thanks to the 3d person view in vehicles the bullet will have a higher slope than if the crosshair aimed at the point you wanted to shoot at.

How to solve this error: the slomo field shouldn't interfere with the aim, but be "invisible" fot the crosshair.

1 more problem with the 3d person view in vehicles?
OK:
A wall behind(!) your vehicle can distract your aim.
How? If eg an object comes in front of your crosshair the vehicle tries to aim where the crosshair points at. In this case the vehicle tries to shoot backwards. -.-
(example of a location where this usually happens: in Necro at the gates. Drive trough the gates with a Nemesis and you will see that the wall is to close to you if you are in the "tower mode" - you will have problems to shoot to the enemy flaghouse)
How to solve this error: the crosshair should aim only at abjects in front of you/of your vehicles.

Yes, but I tried it on Suspence.
(I just summoned a NightShade).
The tank and Raptor had a good distance and the crosshair was not lost as it is on Sova's screenshots.
The shots went higher as well.

Not sure if it's really not a feature!?

Ok, this screenshots are maybe not the best because the crosshair looks lost, but it was ok before I shot (I think...)

He means the point in the middle of the crosshair. If this one dissapears its impossible to shoot where you aim at.

If this is really true, then Epic have failed completely.

Maybe it's a specator problem?
We could test it online together.
One player marks a target with the Avril, the other player looks at some others and the others shoot at the target.

Edit
Or all mark a target with the Avril.
Then we can see if someone looks to another direction.

Your custom character may cause this team-color error, Bloody. There is a patch for "malcom1.1" on epic forums, there are some bugs with that too.

Next Bug: The X Ray Field hasnt the settings off a deployable. You can lay spidermines into the X Ray field and emp mine or link station.
And the shock core changes his colors too even if its not in the x ray field.

And the shock turret has a weird bug. When you spectate some1 whos in the turret and he shoots you see a big black bar, which disappears after some milliseconds.


I'll post some screenshots when my connection is fixed.

thats happened since the game first came out... i dont think its a bug... I think they tried making it seem more realistic as maybe 3 rockets wouldn't always go exactly where u want them to go in real life... Ive had it where all 3 of them fly in oposite directions lol...

Maybe its just another feature (=bug) xD

i also found a error a few days ago: when you use the sniper, zoomed in, and morph into a Titan, the zoom is kept...
so what you get it titan abilities, with very bad view XD making the titan useless :P

Nope, some bugs that are really annoying is the one which make you have to reload the enforcer twice; when I respawn and when i switching to it. And the one that prevent me from dodging walls from jumppad amd hoverboard.
