Datasets of almost 1.12 M accounts is indeed pretty nice. I wonder about the true number of online players these UT3 accounts belong to.

Dumped stats of the top 20000 players before the servers go down. Maybe someone finds them intersting, even if they won't update with future games.

I guess Gamespy's isn't selling/giving-way its database.
Maybe they even couldn't do that legally (privacy terms in gaespy's end user agreement).

Unrealscript was removed in the Unreal Engine 4, but now Epic realized that user created C++ mods are potentially harmful to target computers. Some Epic developers look for a solution to this potential security risk, without banning mods. May this be the return of unrealscript?

Edit: Epic will provide these gamemodes: Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and finally Warfare/Onslaught.

Hopefully they'll leave all of the free2play and mobile gaming experiments to Fortnite.

P.S. I heard something about ue4 techdemo, can you guys link me to the latest non registration version? I found some demo calls ShooterDemo, its so bad, are there any other demos? thx

Strange, so at Epic, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing? It's just a few weeks back, when Sweeney officialy stated, no game in the Unreal universum was in the works or even planned in the medium run.

I wouldn't mind a mixture of "unreal" single player and "unreal tournament" multiplayer. Sounds good, as long as it is a full (not half-done at release) and PC targeted game, not a pay2win or mobile phone game. Crazysmile1

The UE4 gravity in the movement comparsion video seems a bit low to me (takes too long to land when dodging downhill). Maybe it is based too much on the UT2K4 movement style, where you could go insanely far with the "dodge-jump" or double jump.

The rest looks fine, but it is still a lot of work for a community UT, even if this fps template from Epic is said to be a good starting point for any kind of fps games. I'm curious about the progress of this project over the next 2-3 years.

Fine, the next RypelCam release will allow to set up to 300 fps for dumpframes over the RypelCam menu and any higher value by editing the RypelCam config file.

It's too much of a hassle to prepare an official release with just minor changes, though. If you really need a quick update, I can send you an inofficial release when the requested features are ready.

You can use a third party software to reorganize keybinds. For example, a popular one is called autohotkey, you can remap your keybinds, also to a gamepad, or add makro scripts to keys.

You may change the keys in the script to something else than the arrow keys to move the mouse (arrow keys are used by RypelCam to pause/change playback speed)..

Ok, false alarm then.

it seems that u need a minimum of 4 campoints in order for Rypel to register them. So please update your tutorial with that information.

Basics:
2.5 : To make a cam path, at least 4 cam points have to be set.

It should be changed to be more clear in the readme, maybe also some infos in the in-game hud would be useful.

Also - is it possible to orbit players? I could REALLY use a 3rd person free cam! (working in conjunction with campth, if possible)
You can lock/unlock the third person view to the viewing direction of the spectated player with 'L'. If the view is unlocked, you can orbit the camera around the player.

With 'NumpadZero' you can attach the demo spectator to a player and follow it. You can than set the relative location with the usual movement inputs, but this is a separate feature that does not work together with a camera path.

It is located in My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config\UTRypelCam.ini
You should have the permission to attach files to posts now (additional options below the post).

Im using the latest one. Maybe Ill try to reinstall it and see what happens.
You can just remove UTRypelCam.ini to revert to default settings.

I'm not able to reproduce this problem with the latest RypelCam release. What version of RypelCam do you currently use?

RypelCam 3.13 is the only release to make use of dynamic arrays to store cam points. Using this release could cause the problem you described.

Just an assumption, maybe Epic wasn't satisfied with their rather poor implementation of demo recording and wants to replace it.
An advisable source of inspiration for Epic could be the Valve movie maker for the source engine, which allows to do much more than recording gameplay and than blocking the view on a first or third person perspective:

I wonder about Epic's motivation to remove demo support, and whether a proper 'out of the box' replacement will be available for UE4 games.

UE4? Maybe later on, when a good game is released.
But for now: nothing to do here.

There aren't that much of trademarks/copyrights.
In the UDK version, maybe, but UT3 stands under Midway's copyright. Moving their assets or code to UDK pretty clearly breaks the EULA. If someone would sue you or if noone gives a dime as long as you don't commercialize a game, that is an other topic.
But even with such permission, all the native code where noone knows what exactly Epic does there... you'd have to rewrite a lot yourself, don't know how meaningful that would be. By the way, what improvements for UT3 do you expect from UDK over the Engine of UT3?


And i doubt UE4 will work for Arena-FPS players. Have you checked the system specs? You won't get that much of performance on low end PCs.
You reffer to the recommended specs for the Editor, or to the minimum specs for running a game?
UE4 is supposed to scale well, like that elemental demo: high quality details on a PC and less particles and details on a (beta-PS4) console.
Even mobile phones will run UE4.
Epic also wants to rule the browser game segment with javascript-UE4 games, they can't expect high end machines playing casual games. ...and Epic will copy your facebook profile pic and gather data about your friends, no joke... and pass data about you to a set of trusted companies, but no need to tell which those are. Murica is proud of you. wasted

So, back to topic, the min specs will very between different games, which does not exclude arena FPS on UE4. ...And the Editor will be improved, Epic clearly states the current version is only for early adopters.

If games will run 60 FPS in 720p or 1080p on a Xbox 1 or PS4, that may already set the maximum of the graphics quality bar until the next console generation is there, I guess. Wink

How about 'real tournament'? Inspired by, but not cloned from UT. But use hexa-kill instad of monsterkill, or Epic is gonna sue you! Wink
