It's annoying and I can't understand why they didn't add it.

I would say let's continue here :)

First off:
I'm very satisfied that Epic did not ignore my last message about the Avril exploit.
You had the possibility to shoot an Avril, throw it away, pick it up and shoot again.
Faster than normal shooting.
It is not possible now :)
You can't throw away your Avril while shooting, great work!! :) :)

Sometimes I shoot with my tank enemy scorpions and they survived it.
That mostly happens during the boost/self-destruct sequence.
Is there a bug or just bad-luck?
I'm absolutely sure I hit them but they still survive it and damage the tank!

I'm pretty sure it's not deleted.
Gamespy is fucked up today.
I got several duplicate login name problems and my friends list was empty several times.
I'm 90% sure you will get back all your friends very soon.

a patch cant bring more life into a game. it can be good so the players stay or it can be bad so many players leave.

i dont think that someone buy ut3 just because he read in the Gamestar '2.0 Released'
it wont bring more users :p

Don't be that sure!
People read and read in forums (or other sites) and they could change their mind about the game.
And since UT3 is now more integrated in Steam, there could be something like a "free week-end" for testing the game.
Not sure, just maybe - I don't know if only Valve make things like that.

But well, I don't really need more players.
I know a lot of good players and if they still, I'm happy Wink

Congrats to the patch, I'm glad that your progress is very fast.

However, I think you should change these 3 things:

1) Female and Robot players grunt like men
Me and other players are sure you nearly fixed this issue with this patch (even with beta 1). The woman now sounds like a woman when she falls, gets shot etc.
The only issue is when she jumps from a not very high place and don't lose health.
Look, if I jump from here, it sounds like a man when she reaches the ground:




Sorry, I did not check it with Robots, no idea if it's the same.

2) The last fast Avril firing exploit
You've successfully fixed the other 2.
I'm sure you can fix this one as well.
Isn't it possible that the game "remembers" that the thrown Avril needs to get reloaded after picking up?
It would be enough that it just remembers the player who threw the Avril away.
As you can see, if a player looks at the ground and throw it away, he will pick up the weapon immediately and automatically.
Then he presses the button for the Avril and fires. It can be fast, much faster than normal shooting and unfair players will use it, definitely!


3) Manta and water
In my last message I wrote that it's still possible to get with the Manta under water (with a lot of speed/power). I think it should be at least possible to set something like "If Manta touches (gets in contact with) water, then it should lose health". So it would not matter if a player gets it to be under water, because he won't be able to stay as long as he want.


If I find any other issues, I will write again.

Let's hope they fix at least this Avril exploit.
It's no problem to throw it away, picking it up, switching to it and shooting.
This sounds like a long procedure but it's much faster than the normal shooting.
Lamers always will use it...

The other 2 things aren't that fatal^^
I hardly see any Mantas under water which camp.

Guys, please help me out.
One player says it is possible to stay on the hoverboard under water.
He just showed me screenshots:




I can't get this!
I always fall from the hoverboard...
He uses version 1.3.

It works if you try it with "god", but I hardly believe he used a cheat^^
And he said you have to jump with the hoverboard into the water (from the high place).

Some new information:
The PC version will have a lot of improvements compared to the 360 version.
- language (voice) selection between English and Japanese
- better animations in battles
- some new characters
- faster battles
- improved save function
- graphical weapon previews

If imageshack.us wouldn't create these unnecessary characters in the file name, I would use it.
Now, it would be a lot of work because I would need to write all links in my text files.
(I just copied and changed the nr. - would not be possible with imageshack.us)

I've tested the patch too.
2 things:
(Thumbnails, just click for enlarging).


1) Fast Avril firing exploit:
The first is easy and very effective:
Shot an Avril-switch the weapons-shot an Avril. You have to switch the weapons quickly, but it is not really difficult. I tried it this kind:
Shot an Avril-switch to Rocket Launcher-switch to Longbow-shot an Avril. I just used the mouse wheel. You can see many Avrils:



The 2nd fast Avril firing exploit is not that effective.
Shot an Avril-throw away the Longbow-take the Longbow-Shot an Avril. You won't be able to shoot Avrils as fast as the 1st example, but it would still be faster than normal (shooting without exploits).



2) Manta crouch exploit:
It's forced to leave the water if it gets under the water.
However, there is a trick to get under the water. Just fly with the Manta from a high place, press and hold the crouch-button while beeing in air until it reaches the water. With a little bit luck, the Manta will be under the water without loosing health.
As you can see, I tried it from several places and highs:

Hmm but was there any difference between beta 1 and beta1d?
I just checked some things and it seemed to be the same as before.

1 GB would be perfect!
The expansion (pack+patch) must not be bigger than 1127,36 MB, because then I will get stress to burn it on a DVD+R DL (included the whole game) :D :D
I never use my originals for installing or playing.
Just for creating a backup (my current backup consists patch 1.2, so it's older).
