Sounds pretty good:

-UE4
-PC, Mac and Linux only (at least for start)
-Free, not F2Pay (although some community mods might be paid content (of whic Epic takes a cut))
-Epic will make the core deatmatch and the community will add on top of that

And the bad:

-Development just starting
-Community development usually takes ages
-When will it be "ready"? These days there's so many shoddy alpha early access releases and personally I don't really like it. How can a competitive community form if the released "game" is borked and changing constantly?

"Not free to play, just free" - Next statement: "Earnings from the marketplace will be split between the mod/content developer, and Epic. That’s how we plan to pay for the game.". trollface

So, Deathmatch will be developed by Epic for free. And (v)CTF will be available in the marketplace as DLC? Along with custom skins for 2.99? smiley-headshot.gif

Edit: Epic will provide these gamemodes: Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and finally Warfare/Onslaught.

Missed the stream  wasted   But with all that i read and all those "new features", which are indeed the old removed features...I'm not sure it's something so worth waiting. And about this community idea, it's all good and bright so far, but again, it still stays on the "plan" stage. Although i would gladly join them if i had some time and required knowledge.

Games modes will always be free. If it's not done by Epic, the community will do it. The game mode logic is always pretty simple. THe most work for such game modes has be done by designers - chars, level, meshes, etc.

The new concept is just like we all work for Epic without being paid. If Epic and all other devs are earning money form their custom content, it's okay. I don'T care about characters and all that fancy stuff about model customization at all. Mutators/Mods will be free no matter what content. I would say that every content can be remade by another guy who's offering the same mode for free.

If such marketplace would exist, there is only a limited number of custom mods which can be commercial.

It looks really bad. The forum on unrealengine is spammed by a ton of UT99 users which only need/want a port to UE4. If Epic goes that way, we are doomed. Assault Rifle + Ripper. Jumpiness of UT2k4, vehicle physics of UT2k4. Simplistic maps from UT99. ...  msn004.gif

For anyone who's interested in a UT99 like port, check http://utournament.net/

Not too shabby in my opinion. I like how open they are to the community, well at least they say they are.
They are not in a hurry, no pressure from publisher. It'll definitely take some time till the game will see a final release but really I don't mind waiting.

I am scared of a console only pay2win game.... msn004.gif

-12 standard maps, 3 game modes
-matchmaking only, 10 players max, no dedicated servers
-FOV limited to 65 w/o possibility of tweaking! In fact no settings tweaking at all!
-health regeneration!
-enemies show up on map (no need for wall hacking)!
-day 1 DLC - enforcer with autoaim - just like in Titanfall!
-able to carry up to 3(!) weapons at once!
-weapon unlocks and class kits!
-skinpacks starting from € 2.99!
-future DLC map packs
-plays best with a XBOX controller

x'D I thought too much how to add something to that list..
-Assist points for kills.

Sup guys, wanted to share this demo with hypno trying out some movements. Good to know that he's helping out in the development.

Hey there "BossNiggar"  xxxlaugh.gif

I'm sceptical to the new movement prototypes.
They want to get rid of doublejump and introduce auto-mantling edges...  Roll Eyes
